Terms of Service
The terms that govern your use of Stet and stet.pub.

## 1. Acceptance By downloading, installing, or using Stet, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software. ## 2. Licence grant Subject to these terms and payment of the applicable fee, CZE grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to install and use Stet on up to **two (2) Mac computers** that you own or control, for your personal or commercial publishing work. A single licence is for one person. It does not permit use by multiple people or within an organisation without a separate agreement. ## 3. Free tier Stet may be used free of charge for importing, checking, correcting, and previewing manuscripts. Export functionality requires a paid licence. CZE reserves the right to modify what is available in the free tier. ## 4. Activations Your licence key may be activated on up to two Macs at a time. You may deactivate a Mac from your account portal at stet.pub/account to free up an activation slot. CZE reserves the right to revoke activations in cases of suspected abuse. ## 5. Restrictions You may not: - Copy, redistribute, sublicence, or resell Stet or your licence key - Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application - Use Stet to process content on behalf of others as a service without a separate agreement - Share your licence key with other people ## 6. Your content Your manuscripts and project files remain entirely yours. CZE makes no claim to ownership of any content you process with Stet. See our [Privacy Policy](/privacy/) for details on data handling. ## 7. Payment and refunds Stet licences are sold as one-time purchases. All sales are final. We do not offer refunds except where required by applicable consumer protection law. If you experience a technical problem preventing use of the software, please contact support before requesting a chargeback. ## 8. Updates CZE may provide updates, bug fixes, and new features at its discretion. Updates are included with your licence at no additional charge. CZE is not obligated to provide any specific update, though we intend to maintain compatibility with current macOS releases. ## 9. Disclaimer of warranties Stet is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. CZE does not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Always keep backups of your manuscripts. ## 10. Limitation of liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CZE's total liability for any claim arising from your use of Stet is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. CZE is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or lost revenue. ## 11. Termination CZE may terminate your licence if you materially violate these terms. On termination, you must stop using the software and delete all copies. ## 12. Changes CZE may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Stet after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be announced on stet.pub. ## 13. Governing law These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute arising from these terms that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent courts of France. ## 14.
