Stet is a local Mac application. Your manuscript never leaves your device. This policy explains what limited data we do handle.

Last updated: April 2026

## What Stet does not collect Stet processes your manuscript entirely on your Mac. Your book content — every word, chapter, and correction — is stored in your `.stet` project file on your device and is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party. Stet uses no AI services and performs no remote analysis of your text. ## What we do collect **Licence information.** When you purchase Stet, we store your email address, your licence key, your machine identifiers (used to track which Macs have activated your licence), and your purchase date in a secure database. Machine identifiers are anonymous hardware IDs — they do not contain your name or personal information. **Account credentials.** If you create a customer portal account at stet.pub/account, we store your email address and a hashed password. Passwords are never stored in plain text. **Support messages.** If you contact us using the support form at stet.pub/support, we collect your name, email address, and message. This is used only to respond to your enquiry. **No analytics or tracking.** Stet does not use analytics, crash reporting, or behavioural tracking on the website or in the application. ## How we use your data - Your email address and licence information are used solely to verify your licence and to send you your licence key and account details. - Machine identifiers are used to enforce the two-Mac activation limit and to allow you to manage your activations in the portal. - We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. - We do not use your data to train machine learning models. ## Data storage Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Data is protected by standard AWS security controls. We retain licence and account data for as long as your licence is active or as reasonably necessary to resolve disputes. ## Your rights Under the GDPR and applicable French law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights or to request deletion of your account, contact us using the support form. We will respond within 30 days. ## Cookies stet.pub does not use tracking cookies. The customer portal uses session storage (a browser-local mechanism) to maintain your login state. This data never leaves your browser. ## Contact and data controller Questions about this policy: [support form at stet.pub/support](/support/) Data controller: CZE, France.
